The world moves on and so does our software. We have released new feature exactly by New Year’s eve, it’s backup Google Calendar automatically.
Up until a few weeks ago there was no chance to recover events in the Google Calendar. You deleted an event, accidentally or on purpose, and you lost it forever. As it seems, Google has paid some attention to its users’ complaints and has added the trash folder for Calendar, and now you can restore your events from there.
But you cannot keep them there forever. Whether you desire it or not, but Google cleans up your trash bin and deletes any item that has been stored there for 30 days. If you share your events with your colleagues and allow them to delete and edit events, they can delete the data that is criticl for you, and you even will not know about it. The trash bin still does not give 100% guarantee of your corporate data safety.
The new feature that we have implemented for Upsafe Google Apps and Google account backup tool allows you to forget these limitations and restore your events from any point in time.
How to back up Google Calendar with Upsafe
- Sign up for Google Apps corporate backup or Google Account end-user backup with your Google account.
- Allow the app to have access to your data.
- Open the Calendar tab.
- Click the “More” button and select “Run backup” from the drop-down menu.
- The backup will start automatically. Once it is finished you will see all the Google Calendar events that have been backed up.
The interface is pretty much similar to the one that you are used to with Google Calendar itself. Just click on the event that you need and see all the details.
Now once the backup job is done you will be able to restore your Google Calendar events whenever you deleted them.
