If you use Google apps at work you must already know how convenient this tool may be when it comes to collaboration and sharing your files with colleagues and clients. Hide blocks of text in the shared Google document
If you work together with other people on the same document you may want to hide some of its part from them. This can be easily done with an awesome add-on which is called DocSecrets.
To switch it on click on the Add-ons in the top menu, select “Get add-ons” and type “DocSecrets” in the search field.

Once you switch it on it will appear in the Add-ons drop-down menu.
To start working with this add-on you would need to set up your passphrase. Once the passphrase is set up you can select the part that you would like to hide and just click “Censor text”.
If you want to reveal text back all you need to do is to remember your password.
Share selected tabs in Google Sheets
Sometimes you may need to hide some specific tabs from your collaborators in the shared Google sheet.
To do this open the tab you want to hide and open the drop-down menu which you can find by the name of the sheet.
Select “Protect sheet”. In the side-bar that will open right after that click on the “Set permissions” button and set up your privacy preferences.
